  1. I’ve added a cup of 30%+ acidity white vinegar to the soak cycle of my washer and occasionally to the rinse. The musty and/or mildew-laden orders vanish thereafter.

    I completely trust your advice.

Vinegar works to a limited extent. Some fibers tend to hold on to odors, so just get rid of it.

What’s worked for me with tough BO has been adding an enzymatic fabric cleaner designed for pet odors and doing a pre soak cycle with it.

Vinegar and peroxide are great for disinfecting and getting rid of odor

    • Yup vinegar!! I’m wondering how many more disasters we need, including forever chemicals in our water, before people start listing nontoxic solutions first if not only πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

    • Vinegar diluted in water doesn’t disinfect anything, it only works as a mild disinfectant if its used pure

      Separately yes, I agree..
Just make sure 2 never use both together as they produce a dangerous gas..

What do you recommend for things that can’t be washed right away or at all? I work with a lot of wearable mascot costumes and large puppets that we spray out with alcohol solution. Is there a better alternative?

  10. Thank you for actually saying the brand names you recommend! πŸ‘

  11. What do you do about the smell that over time develops in polyester clothing? No amount of washing gets it out in my experience, if you have any tips I’d gladly hear it
It’s work uniforms so I have no option to change to different fiber

    • There are special detergents for sports clothes. They’re meant to thoroughly clean sweaty clothes at a low temperature, since you can’t usually wash them on hot, being polyester with lots of elasthan.
