Nah, I need a lot of detergent. My clothes get dirty. I’m a real man. I do real hard work, where I get down and dirty.

Too much detergent can cause buildup on clothes and gunk up washing machines. A trick I learned from a British marathon runner is to do a rinse or express cycle with no spin and put vinegar in the soap section of the washer. Then wash cycle like normal but sprinkle baking soda in the drum with the clothes. This fizzes up the water with an acid base reaction to remove caking and let the detergent dissolve and do its job better. Also, never use softener because it negates everything you just did by trapping all the cakes dirt into the clothes with a film layer. You have to use this method a few times before everything comes out completely so patience is key. I’ve had year old pit stains from work clothes washed out by doing this every time I wash and they’ve lasted longer. Hope this helps!
