Calling BS; a lot of them underpay their workers big time
I agree that the non-profit sector typically pays less than the for-profit, but the same can be said for government versus private sector jobs. Some individuals are driven by purpose more than a fat paycheck, and as long as they’re not being exploited I see no harm (or BS).
I worked for fed government that I knew paid less but did it because of the purpose and the service part of the agency. There is something to be said for satisfaction from having a purpose you believe in vs just money.
