The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is finally here with a complete redesign. Built on the same platform as the full-sized Toyota Tundra, the new Tacoma promises better fuel efficiency, a more comfortable driving position, and easier cabin access. But despite these upgrades, it's still a truck at heart — with a stiff ride and a noisy powertrain.

Imaginer’s favorite truck struck for future
Little late with this one
Not that it would fix every issue, but you really should be testing the TRD Off -road model. That’s the most purchased version of the Tacoma.
It’s a shame they kept those leaf springs in the SR trim. Apparently the coil springs in TRDs are a big improvement.
Hilux. Please.

46k for this truck should be a crime
The Ridgeline is a car not a competitor to the Tacoma. The stripped SR5 is not the best model to review and what about the 25’s?
you can get fully loaded frontier around 40,000 after discounts.
What kind of cheese does this grumpy dude like with his whine. I’m sure that not right either
4wd auto? What a joke. Consumer reports is misreporting lol. It only has part time 4wd or fulltime in the limited iforcemax
Is this a repeat? 2024 model review?
I’m confused
Why are you doing the 2024?
It’s August 2025 and the 2026 is going to be released next month which means this review is 2 years old
I have the 2024 TRD and I think it is far quieter than most other trucks while you are inside it.
The engine sound is quite beastly compared to most 4cyl, and not at all an overwhelming or unwelcome sound.
The seat lumbar, atleast in mine. Is actually really enjoyable. It goes out a lot further that any other vehicle I have been in, and I find that extremely useful for the days where you need a little more or a little less support.
The seats themselves may seem a bit small if you are not used to actual “racing style” bucket seats. You could also compare the seats to a gamer/gaming chair. Where you feel more snug, as opposed to the wide office chairs.
If you have an off road package, such as the TRD. The shocks and tires definitely make for a rougher drive on regular roads. However, this will get better as the shocks break in a little.
Also, the shocks make for an amazing smooth ride when off road or going over bumps that the non-trd will surely make sure you (and your truck) feel.
Never buy a turbo engine
Guy struggling to get into the truck and to understand the dash has reached retirement age
CR is admitting that the Tacoma is no competition to the Ranger.
The buying public seems to have a hard time accepting that both the Tacoma and Tundra have become deeply uncompetitive products, with Toyota charging a massive premium for reliability that they no longer deliver.
Also competes with the Ford Ranger?
