We recently purchased a 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Sport for our test fleet at the CR Auto Test track. We talk about Honda's curious trim and options strategy, which makes the hybrid powertrain the only one available above the base LX and EX models, and forces you into options you might not want, like 19-inch wheels; its redesigned interior; and fuel economy. Find out how it competes with the competitors:

    First.

  2. Second.

  3. Does anyone know what a battery warranty is…..I know the Toyota hybrid is the best, how about Honda’s.

I wouldn’t call that a volume knob. Looks like a pimple on the dash. Besides that, I do like this car. There is beauty in its simplicity.

    • there is a handy volume up / down on the left side of the steering wheel so you might not need to deal with the pimple knob

    • @davidshead still nice to use the knob occasionally

Perfect car for the elderly that want to avoid excitement due to various health conditions

  6. RIP 2.0T engine

  7. Surprised to see this kind of update from CR and Jake Fisher. Perhaps a new format they are trying out? Car sounds interesting.

CR, Here is a bold prediction, the 19″ rims and wide tires combined with the unique Honda hybrid powertrain will result in awful highway mpg.

  9. Any ideas how much it’ll cost to replace that battery pack? I like the hybrids, but my current Accord is 20 years old and just worry about what kind of expense I’m setting myself up for down the road. I only drive 5000 miles a year, so not gonna recoup a whole lot of cost in and fuel savings

  10. Why buy not buy the EX-L Hybrid with 17 inch wheels and epa rating of 48 combined vs 44 for the ones with 19 inch rims?

  11. The design is incredibly boring, dated and dull. 👎🏼

This “old” car will set sells records, for the worst Accord sales in history 😔

  12. America: Toyotas are boring
    Honda: Hold my beer….

  13. Ice cars are dead…

  14. Honda Taurus

  15. boooooo. great review my brother but I’m still in love with my 2018 accord with the 2.0 turbo 6 SPEED MANUAL. if i could have one thing from the 2023 version into my 2018 will be the full screen cluster display, other than that there’s nothing else i would change about my car

  16. Down 50 horses, no 2.0T, no BSM, Rampant cost cutting (door panels/CR-V handles), lost 4 way lumbar, awful…. I’m very sad the Accord has finally become an appliance…

    BORING………. 😑

  18. 33k for basically a stripper. No rear vents, no heated seats or AWD option. The hybrid power train is nice but real would mpg especially highway is not that impressive
