2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV Review | Consumer Reports

2024 Chevrolet Equinox Ev Review | Consumer Reports 1

The Chevrolet Equinox EV, the most recent addition to General Motors’ lineup of electric vehicles, delivers a solid blend of performance, comfort, and range. We found it quiet and quick, with a smooth ride and an interior that rivals, and sometimes even beats, the more expensive Chevrolet Blazer EV.

How is there still no review on the gas Equinox? It’s been marked as “in test” on your website for what, 8 months now? What gives?

Finally competition for tesla 320 miles of range for 35k not almost 😅 50k for a tesla bit you can add FSD for 10k making it 60k

    We’re in 2025 — what’s with the 2024 name?

  5. @markfitzpatrick6692 | May 12, 2025 at 3:41 PM |

    Because electric is king

Despite there being an in-cabin camera does SuperCruise nag you at all to make sure you are paying attention? Such as when you look away for a moment, or just periodically even if your eyes are continuously on the road?

I like this approach to the Consumer Reports review rather than the group talk format. Well done.

  8. I like the idea of this car so much (and the base price with the tax credit is hard to beat), but just can’t keep from comparing it to the E-GMP cars in its class (Hyundai IONIQ 6, Kia EV6, Genesis GV60). By the time you spec this up to have similar features to those, you’re in a similar–if not more expensive–price point. I love where GM is going; I hope they keep pushing.

  9. When I was car shopping recently, I ruled out all GM EVs because they don’t have CarPlay. I can’t believe they are still sticking with this stupid strategy

  10. A few things the reviewer misrepresented:

One padel is on the left of the screen, you can turn on/off

U can leave the car ON by touching one button on a screen.

You do not need super cruise to get adaptive cruise control. It’s comes standard. Lane centering, u need super cruise.

Please correct as many people make a decision based on your reviews and those are common things you can easily learn by spending a little more time and research.

Who would buy a Blazer EV over this “Plain Jane” Equinox? Well, another reviewer reported that the Blazer EV SS version costs in the mid-$60,000s & is the fastest electric vehicle per dollar spent available in the U.S.

Glad that Chevy offers a wide price range. The overlap with the Blazer is strange. Hope it sells well for GM.

  13. I had the blue RS with white roof for about three weeks on a lease deal. It was a decent EV, nothing exciting. But it not having CarPlay bugged me more than I thought it would. Long story short, GM didn’t accept the application because my trade in had to much equity. So the dealer called me back to redo the application but I pitched a fit so I could get out of the deal. It bother me that much that it didn’t have CarPlay.🤣

I guess I could see having a subscription for the super cruise after a discounted “intro period” or something. Whatever floats your boat GM because I wouldn’t buy it anyway. But bundling the adaptive cruise control with that is ridiculous. You already bought the equipment required for that feature when you bought the car.

Excellent review, Alex. Very relaxed, conversational, and concise. At $50k as tested, I have to say that the Cadillac Optiq (with standard dual motor AWD and Supercruise) might actually be an overall better buy. Better dealership sales and service experience plus a higher materials quality in the interior and design.

Yeah. I’ll stick with my ICE.

  17. love when we get alex again, he’s so handsome

50k for a chevy? NO THANK YOU

I own a 2016 Toyota. I bought it in 2020 used. I use adaptive cruise control all the time. I would never buy a car which requires an ongoing paid subscription after the first 3 years new just to use adaptive cruise control. Stupid.
