  1. At least you get legendary reliability from thst V6 engine

they are reliable, but lack the emotion on the inside and outside for the price I’ll stay with my Benz only slightly more but the extra is worth it …..

Quality of materials aside, it’s pretty clear whomever designed this interior has never gone off-roading in dusty conditions and had to spend time detailing their interior when they got home.

  4. Jeez, and that’s a Japanese-built SUV, too. So much for that supposed ‘legendary’ quality.

    • There’s overlap between quality and reliability, but they are not exactly the same thing. Japanese manufacturers (Toyota in particular) are known for being conservative in their designs, which aids in reliability but not always quality.

There have been loads of base-level Toyota models that have felt cheap, on the interior in particular. These fit and finish observations don’t necessarily mean the car is going to fall apart, but they don’t help the value proposition.

  5. I had a 2014 Kia Soul and then a 2021 Toyota RAV4. Both great cars but the fit and finish on the Soul was better. The RAV felt durable but cheap. I didn’t have mechanical issues with either car.

  6. The panel gaps aren’t that horrendous. They seem to be pretty even and consistent.

Toyota, it’s almost 2026. Can you at least make a honest effort in upgrading interior design and material quality? Looks the usual “Fisher Price” to me.
