The all-new Subaru Forester Hybrid promises increased power and fuel economy packaged in the automaker's recently redesigned small SUV. Styling is virtually identical to the 2025 Forester we tested, but the hybrid powertrain is more potent and claims a 25-percent fuel economy improvement. Like other Subaru SUVs, this version will be all-wheel drive.

RAV4 hybrid/CX-50 hybrid have a spare tire. Some cars are omitting spares but maintain the space to add one aftermarket.

Oddly, the Ford Escape Hybrid can’t match the Maverick on MPG either. And they should have very similar drivetrain setups.
