ERIC BARDOUILLE -
CD title: READY OR NOT !

He is a former member of the first serenade band, and has written numerous
songs for the band, a review of the band last three albums will indicate
that Eric was responsible for many of the band's hit songs, even to the
extend that he wrote nine of the ten songs on their most successful album
rough up de session which included the band biggest hit “bef la lage”.
A former member of the Dominica Police Force, Eric has now embarked on a
music career and this album is the first attempt at a solo production. Eric
is now associated with the Roots Stems and Branches band more popularly known
as the R.S.B.
Gregory Riviere - Born in Marigot, is more
popularly known by this name in Domfesta competition, DBS christmas song
contest and with the zion singers of Marigot. In the field of calypso, he is
called the Lord Caressa. This year was his first time into the calypso business and also his first recording CD, “HOMESICK” with
eight songs.
NEVINSON CUFFY - More popularly known in his
homeland as "Spraggie". slim, slender and obviously charming, Spraggie has
been entertaining home crowds for quite some time. Since recording his debut
album, Spraggie has revived his old group, 2nd chapter. As a soloist he has
performed at some of Dominica's leading entertainment venues: Good Times,
Sisserou Hotel, Arawak House of Culture and Carnival City, to mention a few.
Spraggie's most memorable gigs are, by far, the annual musical galas held in
honor of the late Haile Salassi and Robert Nesta "Bob Marley" in observance
of African Liberation Day.
Dominica's reggae giant Nasio Fontaine and the legendary bro. Bob (deceased)
top his list of favorites. Others include: Beres Hammond, Bunny Wailers,
Stevie Wonder, Boyz II Men and Dominica's own uprising reggae artist
"Savage". Spraggie like most other Caribbean performers, composes most of
the material he handles. his goal is to master the keyboard. His latest
“BAD BOYS” has EIGHT (8) songs. He is orinally from CANEFIELD.
Snow - With his single recording “JUST WANNA
DANCE” is how the story goes has been very active in music for a long time
now. Dominican by birth, moved to Canada in the late seventies. he played
lead guitar for the Exodus band in the early eighties. He is now based in
New York and Washington D.C and is currently working on a project. He has
also worked with various gospel groups, and our own popular artist
Nellystarre Raffoul based in France.

Jerry Lloyd from Belfast - is Dominica's
number one gospel recording artist. he has been singing in his church for
some time now and also participated and won the Domfesta competition. This
first recording, titled : “LEMME GO” with eight (8) hits, is really making
it big in Dominica and the rest of the Caribbean. He recently held a concert
which was a sell out. He had to set new dates to please his hundreds of fans
who could not get to see him the first time around. |

TRAVELERS TO ZION - Gospel group from Petite
Savanne. First time recording and releasing an album, titled - MY GOOD
SHEPERD . All songs written by Ignace Ettienne. Ignace Ettienne is the lead
vocals and also plays the keyboards, Raphael Darroux plays the drums and do
backup vocals and Lester Anselm plays the bass guitar and also do backup
vocals. There are eight songs on the compact disc.
The 1997 SOCA MIX CD consist of some of
local Dominican calypsonians. They are Young Bull, Educator, Third Eye.
Checker Boutielle and our 1997 road march winner Intruder with his song
entitled “Pull String”. This CD album of nine (9) songs, is the second
volume of soca mix that started in 1996 with a few other calypsonians.

Brotherly Brothers - Is one of our leading
soca music producers. They are also two of Dominica’s top calypsonians. They
go by the name of Derick St.Rose commonly known as the "Hunter" and Andrew
Bazil as the "Scrunter". The Scrunter has won the calypso crown three times
while the Hunter known for his winery on stage and his soca music has
participated in the soca monarch competition in Trinidad where he placed
fourth. This year calypso competition the Hunter placed fourth. This
recording is their third since they started recording together in 1995 with
their first recording on cassette with "Cream of the crop", 1996 -
"Invasion" and this year 1997 - "Your driver". There are TWELVE (12) songs
on the CD. | |
