Irvin Clayton Laudat is a young dynamic man who was born under the guidance of humble parents Terrance and Enorie Laudat on the 28th of July, 1968 in the village of Mero just about 1 1/2 mile pit of St. Joseph in the Commonwealth of Dominica.

I attended the St. Joseph Primary School, then proceed to the St. Joseph Campus presently known as the Isaiah Thomas Secondary School.

After his secondary education I was a member of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force, then migrated to St. Thomas U.S.V.I. While there I undertook a Business Administration Course at U.V.I. which I now have a certificate in Business Administration.
I served as a Councillor in the St. Joseph Village Council, represented Sag Toyota Summerset of St. Joseph in the intermediate and first division level and also played for the St. Joseph football team.

I am now employed at the St. Paul's Credit Union . I am a family man with two (2) children.


I attended the Salisbury Government School where I attained a Government Scholarship to the then St. Joseph Campus of the Dominica Grammar School. Upon graduation I went into self employment in the field of Agriculture, business e.g., houses for rent and promoted different band in England like the W.C.K. and Jonty and the N5 Band (St. Lucia) among others.

HILARY SHILLINGFORD
AGE: 30 YRS

In agriculture I started as a banana farmer in 1987 and have since diversified and I am now into vegetable farming. I am also a sportsman, and have represented Dominica and Salisbury in the capacity of Captain Shockers Cricket Club and also as a member of the top ranking cricket club.

I am also a father and as such I can identify with the many parents who demand a better future for their children and Dominica.


Mr. Phillip Pierre-Louis was born in the North Western Village of Dublanc on 1st May, 1943 to parents Nora Charles and Molkie Pierre-Louis.

At an early age he displayed a brilliance beyond his age and because of this preciousness was admitted to the Dublanc Primary School at the tender age of 31/2 yrs. At 8 yrs he was adopted and moved to Portsmouth.

This brilliance led to his having to skip standards 2,4 and 6. However he never sat in standard 7 since he receive a scholarship to attend the St. Mary's Academy in 1957. The 1st pupil to achieve this milestone at the new Portsmouth Government School.

JAMES PHILLIP PHILS PIERRE-LOUIS
At the Academy he continued his good form by being 1st at every form he attained at that school every term.

The Christian Brother's realized his potential and targeted him for the brotherhood. He served as an acolyte and a member of the Legion of Mary. He was also a member of the school's acrobatic team.

His adopted parents opposed the brothers' approach and in frustration young Pierre Louis left their home and joined the teaching profession in 1961. While a teacher he again topped the teachers' exams at his grade every year!

While a young teacher he organized the Dublanc/Bioche Youth Group, the Pelican's Sports Club which he captained the Dublanc Boy Scout's Movement of which he was Assistant Master, the Dublanc Steel Band and a drama group.

He was subsequently selected to the 1st North Dominica Cricket Association Team and was elected captain. Mr. Pierre Louis taught at the Dublanc School, the Paix Bouche School where he received his Teacher's Certificate from the University of the West Indies in 1971.

In 1975, he attended the Dominica Teacher's College where he received a further Teacher's certificate from UWI and another from the Teachers' College. He became Principal in 1978 and headed the Warner, Paix Bouche, Dublanc and Savanne-Paille Schools. Mr. Pierre Louis was a founding member of the Dominica Association of Primary School Principals and also of the Dominica Association of Teachers and served unbrokenly on both executives as General Secretary of the Principal's Association, 1st Vice President, Treasurer, and PRO of the Teacher's Union.
He received two certificates for outstanding service from the Union. One in 1994 and again in 1996. He was on the salary negotiating team and led on the team which obtained the group insurance for the Union. He took early retirement in 1996 and received a plaque for outstanding service to school and community from the UWP Government.

Mr. Pierre Louis introduced the CCF Project in the Tane-Tane, Savanne Paille, Cottage, Toucarie, Clifton and Capuchin area.

CANDIDATE FOR ROSEAU NORTH

Kirtist A. Augustus a Leo, born on August 2nd 1947, child of Harry S. Augustus and Sylvia Ruth Augustus NE (Shillingford) of Roseau.

He attended the Roseau Boys` School, the Wesley High School and the Dominica Grammar School. In 1974 he attended the Georgetown University and Mount Vernon College in Washington DC, where he graduated with a certificate in 'Labour Economics' and policies Economic Development.

On completion of secondary school in 1968 he joined the Dominica Postal Service in Roseau as a Registration Clerk. He quickly moved up the ranks to the Money and Postal Order Clerk then to Cashier. It was at the Post Office that the concept of teamwork took root and remained with him since. He left the Civil Service in December 1970 to take up an appointment with the Waterfront and Allied Workers Union as its General Secretary a position he held until 1981 when he was given leave to serve at the level of the Region at the Caribbean Congress of Labour (CCL) till 1998.

In 1981 he was the Assistant Secretary and Education Officer of the CCL and in 1983 November he was elected to the post of Chief Executive Officer, Secretary Treasurer of the CCL. His tenure in that post makes him the longest serving Chief Executive of the CCL.

In Dominica the success of the W.A.W.U was largely due to the concept of teamwork developed by him with such persons as Louis Benoit, Roy Bannis and Alec Gage. He served as a senator in the First Parliament of Dominica as an Independent State. He represented the Union on the board of the Housing Development Corporation and the Industrial Relations Tribunal.

He is a keen sportsman and represented Dominica at the Inter School Tournament in St. Vincent in 1964. In 1969 and 1970 he represented Dominica in, Soccer in St. Lucia and Dominica. In 1968 he represented Dominica in cricket in Grenada while still a schoolboy. He is a former President of the Dominica Football Association and President of the Chocolate County Football Club.

He will bring to his new challenge the cumulation of twenty-eight years of local regional and international experience. His ease with working as a team player could only redound to the benefit of the Roseau North Constituency specifically and Dominica generally.

Colihaut Constituency
Herbert Sabaroche who served as Parliamentary Representative of the Colihaut Constituency is a humble, practical, helpful, intelligent and committed individual from the tiny village of Bioche.

His mother who fathered him helped laid the foundation for his high level of integrity walking with him to the Colihaut Catholic Church Sunday after Sunday.

He attended the Dublanc Government School and was one the first from Bioche to proceed to a secondary school - the Dominica Grammar School with the assistance of a Whitchurch Scholarship.

Sabie has a very strong background in Human Resource Development , which puts him in the best position for leadership at the political level.

Professionally Sabie has completed the BA in Education and an MA in Planning and Management at the University of London. He has served at every level in the field of Education and Training during his 27 years in the Ministry of Education and 5 years as a Regional Advisor and Consultant.

He moved from simple classroom teacher, to Principal, to Technical Vocational Specialist, to Education Officer, to OECS Education and Training, Co-ordinator, to Advisor in Technical Vocational Education and Training, to Chairman of CARICOM Advisory Board for TVET and to Regional/International Consultant.

Sabie has been successfully involved with Community Development and Sports all his life, be it a road project in Bioche, Dublanc or Colihaut or President of Bioche Youth Group, Heineken Saints, or Technical Advisor of the successful Dublanc Cricket and Football Teams over the past five years.

The overall aim for Dominica is to empower people for a better way of life and for the social and economic growth and development of the communities. Based on feed-back from the people, Sabie considers as challenges the following:

I am Swanston Carbon born under the Sign of Virgo in the town of Portsmouth fifty-five years ago. I am married and have five children. At refrigeration Technician by profession and a long standing businessman.

I live in the Urban area of Wallhouse for the past eleven (11) years. A family man, a regular church goer and a great believer in the Lord Almighty.

Served on the City Council for seven (7) years; a member of the Jaycees Organization for the past thirty (30) years; twice President of the Jaycees of Dominica and now International Senator. A member of the Executive body of the Roseau Co-operative Credit Union serving on the Credit Committee for twelve (12) years, the last three years as Chairman.

I served as a Member of Parliament for fifteen (15) consecutive years, the last five years as Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly. I have been the longest serving Senator in the Parliament of Dominica.

The above testifies to a life lived in complete service to my fellowmen, my country and the international brotherhood of service clubs.

Vieille Case Constituency

Born in the Vieille Case Constituency in the very remote hamlet of "cotton".

I attended the Vieille Case Elementary School and in 1994 pursued a course of studies in Commodity Marketing and Management at the Faculty of Agriculture of the UWI (St. Augustine, Trinidad).

Being a farmer for many years, I have served on the Board of Directors of several statutory bodies and represented them both nationally and internationally.

I served the Vieille Case Credit Union in a Supervisory capacity for many years and at present I am Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Committee, and as President of the PTA of Thibaud for 5 years.

A true community man.

Born in Grand Bay, I attended the Grand Bay Boys’ School and later attended the Saint Mary’s Academy in Roseau.

In 1960 still in my teens I migrated to England, where I stayed for 36 years, making regular visits to Dominica.

My love for Dominica is such, that I was compelled to leave England to settle in Dominica many years before I reached retirement age, hoping to contribute in whatever way possible toward a better Dominica for the future.

My sincere desire is to bring all the social partners in Grand Bay together for the common goal.

JOHNSON DRIGO
Castle Bruce Constituency
Johnson Drigo was born in Castle Bruce on November 24th, 1968. As s young boy he attended the Castle Bruce Government School and was actively involved in Youth Groups in the community so much that through his active participation he obtained a Scholarship through the Social Centre.

He pursued studies in Adolescent Development; with special emphasis on the Psychology of the Adolescent at Servol Trinidad, and obtained certificates in Carpentry and Joinery as a skill.

On his return he was employed by the Social Centre and was bestowed with the opportunity of initiating a branch of the Social Centres’ Adolescent Skills Training Programme in Castle Bruce.

He also successfully completed courses in Leadership Training, small business Management, Family Life Education and is an H.I.V Councellor at a community level.

He served as a member of the Castle Credit Union board for three consecutive terms as treasurer for three years and Secretary for three years.

`Johno` as he is affectionately known by all is a motivator and a resource person for the Youth and Community as a whole.

As an active Youth Leader in his Community he was very instrumental in the ground work of the Castle Bruce Youth Enterprise Centre. He also plays a very influential part in the church in his community. He is presently the President of the St. Vincent De Paul Society, Choir Leader, Vice President of the Parish Council and Core Group member of the Youth Movement.

`Johno` has shown a great interest in the Education of the Youth of his Community. In 1997 he voluntarily sponsored funds through the Caste Bruce Youth Workers to assist students of the Common Entrance class of the Castle Bruce Government School with extra lessons. That year the Common Entrance results were one of the best.

He has coordinated activities for the village feast, ensured that there is a Three Lighting Ceremony at Christmas time and also ensured that Social Activities form a very important part of the Community.

Johno is a Community/Family man, a man for the people, a man who can move the Constituency.

MARITAL STATUS: Single
EDUCATION: Attended the Calibishie Government School where I obtained school Leaving certificates in the 1971 and 1972 examinations. Did not attempt secondary education because of other pressing matters at the time. Been an auxiliary teacher during 1972; after which I continued my private studies.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Have been involved in the motivation, mobilization and Organization of cricket, football and domino leagues in Calibishie from 1986 to 1996. Have served on the Credit Union Board of Directors for 19 years with an unbroken 10 years term.

Tremendous involvement in the preaching and teaching of religious principles and salvation, also counseling of young people.

OBJECTIVES: (1) To help bring about a radical change to the trend of politics in this country.

    1. To create a sense of awareness among young people of politics and its implications.

    2. To make Dominicans view responsibility, respectability and self sufficiency as the missing links to success in a developing country.
    3. To let people know their importance in deciding the fate and destiny of this country.
    4. To make people understand that development must come first in the heart of people and then visible factors in terms of infrastructure and other areas of development.
